Arguably, few things cause today's business owner/manager to
lose as much sleep as the vulnerability of their critical IT systems. Many
small business owners and managers find that simply keeping up with the pace
of daily business activities doesn't allow for adequate planning and
implementation of safeguards against disaster contingencies. When they are
able to afford giving any serious thought to this subject, it tends to raise
questions such as:
-
Can I rebuild my business's
critical IT system functionality in the event of a disaster?
Such systems have evolved over years, possibly even decades.
-
If not, why not? Indefinite down time as a result of the loss
of functionality provided by these systems can mean the demise of the
business.
-
If so, can it be done
quickly?
Down time as a result of the loss of functionality provided by these
systems can cause tremendous loss of revenues, company morale, and even
reputation.
-
Can I restore my business’s
critical data in the event of a disaster?
Even a single day's worth of work can be priceless, as intellectual property
and innovation is often captured in digital format and such progress is hard
to come by. Even if only simple operational data is lost, productivity can
be severely diminished. This issue can be compounded exponentially by
losing weeks', months', or even years' worth of such data.
-
If not, why not? Loss of information and/or forward progress
for an indefinite time frame will most certainly be detrimental to
critical operations.
-
If so, can it be done
quickly?
Losing access to information and/or forward progress for any amount of
time can cause tremendous loss of revenues, company morale, and even
reputation.
IT services companies providing disaster recovery solutions
often use forward-looking statements like:
-
“We promise to rescue your
business in the event of a disaster.”
-
“100% guarantee on recovery
of systems affected by any disaster”
The problem with hanging your hat on promises such as these
is… if they’re wrong, you have no real recourse. Sure, you may be able
to win a law suit against them, but that won’t get your functionality or data
back!
They also usually either don't indicate up
front the
cost of implementing a solution, or they charge high monthly service fees.
Logitree delivers peace of mind through the design and
implementation of
customized
disaster recovery solutions and demonstrating satisfactory
recovery drill
results at a predictable flat rate. This allows you to prove to yourself that you can
affordably recover from
disaster through recovery drills which simulate your chosen worst-case
scenario. If any shortcomings are identified during these drills, they are
used as feedback to refine the solution as needed to arrive at satisfactory
peace of mind. Since IT systems are dynamic by nature, these drills can be
repeated periodically as desired, to maintain optimum recoverability.
Although we have every intention of being there for you should a disaster
affect your business, the recovery procedure during recovery drills is
completely transparent, so you don't need to "just trust us" to rescue
your business in the event of a disaster. You will be afforded the
understanding of how to go about recovery on your own, should the need or
desire arise.

purchased in an actual disaster scenario, depending on the extent of loss due
to a given disaster. All associated operating system and application
licensing costs, and recurring fees associated with data backup (such as
cloud-based services) are assumed to be the customer's responsibility. It is
suggested that procured recovery system be stored at an alternate location
upon completion of recovery drills.
